The Ahmedabad Andhra Mahasabha in association with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Tirupati has taken up a holy task of constructing Balaji Temple complex at Ahmedabad.
The Temple complex consists of Lord Balaji temple, Veda Vidyalaya, Art & Cultural centre (to be built by AAMS), Kalyana mandapam, TTD information centre etc., (to be built by TTD).
The TTD information centre will provide not only information about various sevas performed at Tirupati, but also book their accommodation, sevas, etc at Tirupati from Ahmedabad itself, for thousands of devotees visiting Tirupati from Gujarat.
The estimated cost of the Temple alone is about Rupees two crores. Land admeasuring about six thousand square meters has already been acquired at Chaarodi Village, on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway. (Opp.Nirma University) for this purpose.
Bhoomi Pujan ceremony was held on the auspicious day of 12th of February 2003 at 09:35 am with the participation of several dignitaries, including Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Shri Keshubhai Patel, Ex. Chief Minister of Gujarat.
The temple in Ahmedabad shall be built with granite stones from kanchi, carved at Tirupati, as per agama Shastra, an imposing forty nine feet high Gali Gopuram (Main Entrance), thirty nine feet high garbha gruha, etc. The temple complex will become a landmark in Ahmedabad.
